Its working principle is to use copper, steel, or plastic intaglio plates to cast a hemispherical transfer printing head through silicone rubber, which is pressed against the plate to transfer the image on the substrate for transfer printing. Transfer printing is particularly suitable for irregular and irregular surfaces of the substrate. The use of pad printing is very extensive, mainly used for printing products in fields such as semiconductors, electronics, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, packaging, sports, and toys.
In order to reduce the volatilization of ink thinner during the transfer printing process and prevent environmental pollution, most transfer printing machines currently use an ink cup system. The ink cup system consists of a container and a knife edge ring (scraper), among which the key component is the knife edge ring. Due to the dynamic sealing between the knife edge ring and the pattern gravure during the transfer printing process, there are high requirements for the material and processing of the knife edge ring. Firstly, due to the fact that the diameter of the ink pigment is only a few micrometers, it is necessary to prevent the ink from seeping out from the blade of the ink cup and ensure that the blade ring can scrape off the excess ink after inking on the pattern gravure, which requires very strict mechanical processing requirements. Secondly, in order to ensure good sealing, the transfer printing machine will apply a certain amount of pressure to the ink cup, forming a dynamic seal between the knife edge ring and the concave plate on the ink cup. Therefore, it is required that the knife edge ring have good mechanical properties, dimensional stability, wear resistance, and machinability.
