The ceramic raw material of such nanometer zirconia powder, is imported from Germany. After shaping by cold-isosactic-pressing (CIP), debinding and sinter, the rods are re-heat-treated by thermo-isostacic-pressing (HIP). Then the HIPed rods are grinded to welding pin by CNC to keep high dimension precision (with tolerance 0.002mm) and then polished by diamond to get perfect surface.(Roughness Ra<0.03um).
High strength and high toughness nano Zirconia Ceramics are a type of advanced ceramic material that exhibits exceptional mechanical properties. Nano zirconia ceramics are primarily composed of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles, which are known for their high strength and toughness.
The high strength of nano zirconia ceramics is attributed to the fine grain size of the material. By reducing the grain size to the nanometer scale, the material's strength is significantly increased. This is because smaller grains limit the propagation of cracks and enhance the material's ability to resist deformation under stress.
Additionally, nano zirconia ceramics exhibit high toughness, which refers to the material's ability to absorb energy before fracture. This is mainly due to the presence of a unique microstructure called transformation toughening. When subjected to stress, the zirconia undergoes a phase transformation from a tetragonal to a monoclinic crystal structure, which results in a volume expansion. This expansion creates compressive stresses around the crack tip, effectively slowing down crack propagation and increasing the material's toughness.
The combination of high strength and high toughness makes nano zirconia ceramics suitable for a wide range of applications. They are commonly used in the biomedical field for dental implants, joint replacements, and bone scaffolds due to their excellent biocompatibility and mechanical properties. Nano zirconia ceramics are also utilized in cutting tools, wear-resistant coatings, and high-temperature components in industries such as aerospace and automotive.
Overall, high strength and high toughness nano zirconia ceramics offer exceptional mechanical properties that make them highly desirable for various demanding applications.
